The 4 railroad trains used at Magic Kingdom are restored antique freight trains. They are named: Lilly Belle, Roy O. Disney, Roger E. Broggie and Walter E. Disney. They were built in the United States around the turn of the 20th century and then taken to Mexico. They were used for hauling sugarcane on the Railways of Yucatan until 1969 when Disney scouts found them and sent them to Walt Disney World Resort for the opening day on October 1, 1971.
Walt Disney World Railroad is a popular fun train ride where you can board at 2 locations and depart from there as well. First stop is at the main gate and then next is back in Frontierland. The 20 minute round trip ride gives you a scenic look of the outskirts around the whol park. It is a nice break from walking!
