"Zookeeper" opens Friday, July 8

"Zookeeper," starring Kevin James, opens this Friday, July 8. In a recent press conference, James had this to say about the movie,

"(Our producer) Todd (Garner) came to me with the idea and I was immediately not into doing an animal movie 'cause it just felt kind of goofy to me to do it."

"And then as I started thinking about it more, if we could make a great story and these animals were just kind of like buddies, I started getting more and more interested. I wanted them to be just like your buddies but they just happened to be bears and lions.

Synopsis: A group of zoo animals want to help their adorable zookeeper (Kevin James) find love, so they break their silence.

The film is produced by Sandler's production company, Happy Madison, and will be co-distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pictures.
