The Disney Channel’s Brandon Mychal Smith announced on September 12, that he has selected Raleigh-based French/West/Vaughan (FWV) as his marketing and public relations agency of record.
Best known for his roles on The Disney Channel’s “Sonny with a Chance,” “Phil of the Future” and most recently, as a lead in “So Random,” Smith is the newest client to be welcomed into FWV’s rapidly expanding sports marketing and entertainment practice. The 22-year-old star joins All-Pro running back Arian Foster and starting strong safety Glover Quin of the Houston Texans; Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick; and retired NFL great-turned-filmmaker Simeon Rice as FWV clients. The agency also represents sports associations such as the United States Polo Association, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, among many others.
Smith began his acting career at age 7 when he first appeared on the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” In 2007 he was honored with a Family Television Award, as well as a Young Artist Award, for his role in the critically acclaimed “Ron Clark Story,” starring Matthew Perry. Over the past few years Smith has transformed himself into a multi-dimensional artist, achieving considerable success in his singing and rapping endeavors.
In 2010, Smith starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Starstruck” alongside his “Sonny with a Chance” co-star Sterling Knight. Other film credits include “Gridiron Gang” opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and “Weapons” with Nick Cannon.
